Since 2008, Luis Emilio Luján Sauri has been a partner at Basham, practicing in Mexico City, Monterrey, Querétaro, and León, with a strong focus on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border contracts, foreign investment, aerospace, and strategic alliances. With more than 28 years of experience in tax law, Alejandro Barrera Fernández previously worked at Mexico’s Federal Tax Prosecution Office and at Probursa International in New York, before becoming a senior partner in Basham’s Tax and Immigration practice. He is highly regarded for his expertise in both international and domestic tax matters, tax planning, dispute resolution, and immigration consulting. His excellence has been repeatedly acknowledged by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, Who’s Who Legal, and Tax Disputes Leaders, which consistently rank him among the top tax specialists in Mexico. With over 23 years of experience in intellectual property law, Eduardo Castañeda is a partner in Basham’s Mexico City office specializing in trademarks, copyrights, patents, trade secrets, geographical indications, and digital media disputes. He is recognized for his litigation and advisory work before the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property, the Federal Administrative Court, the Supreme Court of Justice, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). He also served on the academic advisory committee for the 2018 reform of Mexico’s Industrial Property Law. His leadership in the IP field has been recognized by Best Lawyers and IP Stars, and in 2025 he was named a WIPR Diversity Champion, honoring not only his professional excellence but also his commitment to inclusion and diversity in the legal profession.

With more than a decade of practice, Rita has consistently concentrated on mergers and acquisitions, cross-border investment and financing, and dispute resolution. She is especially skilled in assisting clients in achieving their core business objectives from both transactional and dispute resolution perspectives. In recent years, she has successfully delivered comprehensive cross-border legal services for numerous large state-owned and private enterprises on projects carried out in countries along the “Belt and Road” initiative.

杨洁律师先后毕业于中国政法大学和北京大学法学院，在近十年的律师工作中积累了丰富的境外投融资、争议解决及公司商事业务处理经验，近年来，杨洁律师主要从事涉“一带一路”国家的跨境综合法律服务，帮助客户在不同法域的诸多项目顺利推进落地。

Joyce graduated from China University of Political Science and Law and Peking University Law School, and has accumulated nearly ten years of experience in handling outbound investment and financing, dispute resolution, and general corporate and commercial matters. In recent years, she has primarily focused on providing comprehensive cross-border legal services for projects in countries along the “Belt and Road” initiative, helping clients successfully advance and implement projects across multiple jurisdictions.
